Purpose-grown Woody Biomass Crops: state of knowledge. This report, prepared for the Saskatchewan Forest Centre by Cees van Oosten, SilviConsult Woody Crops Technology Inc., is a review of the state of knowledge of purpose-grown woody biomass crops from the perspective of species preference, crop density, crop cycle and yield. The review only considers willow (Salix spp.) and poplar (Populus spp.), as these are the two woody species of greatest potential for Canada and in particular for the Prairie Region.

Hybrid Poplar Reports for the Prairies. Two reports on growing hybrid poplars in the Prairie Provinces have been prepared by Cees van Oosten, SilviConsult Woody Crops Technology Inc. for the Saskatchewan Forest Centre with the generous support and assistance of a number of organizations and individuals, including the Poplar Council of Canada.

Genomics to Production Workshop discussion paper. A 'white paper' published by the Poplar Council of Canada, prepared as a follow-up to the Genomics to Production Workshop organized by the Council in April 2005 with Genome Canada support.

Afforestation fact sheets. A series of information leaflets - in English and French - regarding afforestation in the Prairie Provinces produced by the Canadian Forest Service, Natural Resources Canada.

Presentation on Poplar and Aspen Breeding in Canada. A slide presentation prepared and presented by Barb Thomas of PCC at the 4th International Poplar Symposium in China in June 2006. This provides a succinct, well-illustrated overview of past and present breeding programs in all parts of the country.
